How to Turn Off Update in Windows 10
Sometimes, it's very annoying to receive update notification again and again, and there's no need to update some feature because you don't want it or to waste time on it.
you're on the right place to solve this.
there are 2 steps to do this according to my experience, one step would not be enough to take effect.
First Step
1-go to windows icon and enter setting icon
2-Type: service and select the View Local Services
3-Scroll down to The line Windows Update and double click
4-In the Startup Type set to Disable and down Click Apply, OK
that's it for the 1st step.
Second Step:
1-On your keyboard press the combination of Windows key + r
2-Type: regedit and press enter key or click ok
3-go to the following path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows
4-Right click at Windows line, select new, key
5-Rename the new key with Windows Update
6-Right-click
the newly created key, select new, and click Key.
7-Name
the new key Auto and press Enter.
8-Inside the
newly created key, right-click on the right side, select New, and click DWORD (32-bit) Value.
9-Name
the new key AutoOptions and press Enter.
10-change
its value to 2, stands for "Notify for download and notify for
install". Click OK.
11-Close
the Registry to complete the task.
That's it for all the 2 steps to turn off Windows update off this prevents Windows 10 from downloading updates and you'll
get a notification when new updates are available avoiding Windows 10 to update automatically.
